Quality Engineer - Aerospace - New Britain, CT
This Quality Engineer will be responsible for ensuring unwavering compliance with stringent standards including AS9100, AS13100, and NADCAP. They will actively supporting product and process quality engineering initiatives and be a critical contributor to maintaining and enhancing our quality systems,They will focus in driving continuous improvement efforts, and guaranteeing regulatory compliance throughout our Nuclear/Aerospace manufacturing processes.

My client is a global manufacturer and distributor specializing in precision-rolled stainless steel and special metals in forms like strip, foil, and wire. They serve diverse industries including aerospace, medical, and automotive with high-performance alloys and custom material solutions.
Description
The Quality Engineer will:
- Conduct internal/external audits (NQA-1, AS9100/13100, Nadcap, ISO 17025/14001, supplier/process).
- Support process certification, product qualification, and maintain knowledge of relevant quality standards (NQA-1, AS9100/13100, ISO 9001).
- Participate in risk assessments (FMEA) and the establishment/compliance of frozen processes.
- Review nuclear purchase orders/specifications, drive continuous improvement in nuclear/aerospace processes.
- Serve as a key point of contact for quality matters with internal teams, nuclear customers, and suppliers.
- Perform product analysis/inspection support, document reviews, and oversee compliance activities, including occasional travel.
Profile
A successful Quality Engineer will have:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or operational management (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 5 years of quality assurance or engineering experience in the metal processing industry.
- Proven ability to apply strong reasoning and judgment in planning and execution.
- Experience working within an NQA-1 compliant program.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Experience leading/supporting audits to identify quality issues and non-compliances.
- Working knowledge of FMEA, change management, and APQP methodologies.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills for effective interaction with internal teams, customers, and suppliers.
