Superintendent - New Construction -DC General Contractor

As the Base Building Senior Superintendent, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire construction process, from project initiation to completion. Your role will involve managing and coordinating all on-site activities, ensuring the project is delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.Projects are within the the 20M-60M dollar range and consist of multifamily, academic, design build, and heavy renovation projects

The client is a full-service construction firm with expertise in high-profile, complex projects for both public and private sector customers. This client specializes in new construction, design-build, renovations of Multifamily, Institutional, and Interior projects. The client's headquarters are based in DC and does 100M in revenue just in DC alone.

My client is a premier commercial General Contractor committed to delivering high-quality construction projects. With a focus on innovation, collaboration, and excellence, we take pride in creating spaces that inspire and endure. As we continue to expand, we are seeking a talented Base Building Lead Superintendent to play a key role in our project execution.

Description

    1. Project Leadership: Lead and motivate on-site construction teams, subcontractors, and vendors to achieve project goals. Provide direction, guidance, and support throughout the project life-cycle.

    2. Schedule Management: Develop and maintain a detailed project schedule, identifying critical path milestones and ensuring timely completion of all tasks. Proactively address any potential delays and implement solutions.

    3. Budget Control: Monitor project costs, manage resources efficiently, and identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality. Work closely with the project management team to ensure financial objectives are met.

    4. Quality Assurance: Enforce and uphold high-quality construction standards. Conduct regular inspections to ensure work meets specifications and regulations. Implement corrective actions as needed.

    5. Safety Compliance: Prioritize and promote a safe working environment. Ensure that all on-site activities comply with safety regulations and company policies. Conduct regular safety meetings and inspections.

    6. Client Communication: Foster strong relationships with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders. Provide regular project updates, address concerns, and ensure client satisfaction throughout the construction process.

    7. Problem Resolution: Identify and address challenges and conflicts promptly. Collaborate with the project team to develop effective solutions, maintaining project momentum and minimizing disruptions.

Profile

    • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Lead Superintendent in commercial construction, with a focus on base building projects.
    • Extensive knowledge of construction processes, building codes, and regulations.
    • Proven track record of successfully delivering projects on time and within budget.
    • Strong leadership and communication skills.
    • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
    • Familiarity with construction management software and tools.
    • OSHA 30-Hour Certification is preferred
