The Senior Quality Engineer in aerospace electronics ensures the reliability and safety of complex electronic systems through rigorous testing, analysis, and adherence to stringent industry standards. They lead quality initiatives, develop and implement quality control processes, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to prevent defects and drive continuous improvement throughout the product lifecycle.

My client, located in on Long Island, is a manufacturer specializing in high-reliability power and control solutions for demanding applications. The company focuses on power distribution, control, and conversion technologies, as well as motion control and space-qualified components. Their products, including solid-state power controllers and radiation-hardened single board computers, primarily serve the aerospace, defense, and space industries.

Description

The Senior Quality Engineer will:

  • Provide daily QA support to all departments, resolving production issues for on-time, cost-efficient quality shipments.
  • Establish and maintain quality planning, ensuring product and process adherence to standards and effective communication.
  • Resolve quality discrepancies internally and externally with suppliers and customers.
  • Monitor and communicate performance against customer quality requirements.
  • Conduct internal audits of processes and procedures.
  • Analyze non-conformities, implement corrective/preventative actions, and verify their effectiveness.
  • Review technical documentation (drawings, quality plans, change notices, processes, SOPs).
  • Support incoming inspection and material review processes.
  • Plan and track product qualification testing.
  • Contribute technical and cost input to business opportunities.

Profile

The successful Senior Quality Engineer will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mathematics/Statistics, or Applied Sciences preferred; Six Sigma knowledge a plus.
  • Minimum 7 years of Quality Assurance Engineering experience required.
  • Familiarity with quality, military, and industry standards (AS9100, MIL-PRF-38534, MIL-STD-883, IPC-A-610) desired.
  • Proven ability to develop, analyze, articulate, and present technical information effectively, both written and verbally.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong working relationships with management, customers, and vendors.
  • Excellent project and time management skills.
