Distribution & Operations Director
The Distribution & Ops Director will lead and oversee the management, organization, and planning tasks to maintain safe and optimal performance of the warehouse's receiving, storage, and shipment processes with the goal of driving organizational efficiency, productivity, and quality outputs. This role also manages the maintenance of the building, grounds, equipment, and facility adhering to pertinent regulations and both internal and external audits.

For decades my client has sold flexible packaging regionally and nationally to customers in the food & beverage, healthcare and industrial markets. They have several distribution centers through out the US and are dedicated to building more opportunity for market share in these sectors.
Description
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Oversees the daily workflow of the warehouse; schedules and organizes staff to ensure proper staffing of all shifts.
- Conducts performance evaluations based on departmental and company expectations.
- Promote and engage employees in Operational Excellence and encourage a culture of continuous improvement.
- Regularly communicate with operating teams and management to present ideas, updates, new processes and analytic-based findings.
- Lead, mentor, motivate, and support a large team within a time-sensitive and demanding environment.
- Work closely with key company stakeholders and functional areas.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Ensures the safety of staff and enforces regulatory and safety standards.
- Facilitates maintenance and repairs to equipment and facility.
- Assessing and analyzing departmental budgets to find ways to optimize profitability and lower operational costs to upper management.
- Identifying potential problems and points of friction and finding solutions to maximize efficiency and revenue.
- Manage data collection and monitor WMS to achieve productivity goals.
- Oversees receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations with supervisory management.
- Ensures efficient warehouse operations through collaboration and coordination with other departments.
- Researches, identifies, and presents new ideas to improve warehouse operations.
- Work closely with team on compliance with applicable federal, state, local, company safety policies, and industry required certifications.
- Schedules meetings with warehouse team members to support employee engagement and OpEx principles.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Profile
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent supervisory and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in conflict management and business negotiation processes.
- Proficient in MS Office and other-related applications.
- Strong quantitative and analytical ability to produce spreadsheets to influence business decisions.
Education & Experience:
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in operations management or similar discipline required.
- At least 5 years of related experience required with strong supervisory experience.
- Working knowledge of ERP systems or any related management software programs.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift to 50 pounds at a time.
- Must be able to traverse and access all areas of the warehouse.
- Must be able to travel to other warehouses and external locations.
Job Offer
- $140,000 - $180,000 base salary range (depending on candidate experience)
- 10-20% bonus threshold paid out quarterly
- Manage 3 direct reports (Supervisors) managing entire department of 25+ across 2 shifts
- Flexible hours to accommodate managing 2 shifts (shifts are 6:00am - 3:00pm; 12:00pm - 8:00pm PST)
