Client Details
Our client is a second-generation family-owned General Contractor that has been servicing the Baltimore Metropolitan Area for over 60 years. While their bread and butter has always been educational (higher ed & K-12) projects, their portfolio now includes senior living, non-profit, office and multifamily projects. They have a backlog of projects scheduled through 2026 and beyond, and are looking to grow their team. At this time, they are looking for a strong Assistant Superintendent to start on a $65M K-12 project in Baltimore.
Description
The Assistant Superintendent - K-12 Projects in Baltimore will be responsible for:
- Support the Superintendent in daily onsite construction operations, ensuring adherence to schedules, safety protocols, and quality standards
- Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and execution of work
- Assist with enforcing safety regulations and conducting regular site inspections to ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards
- Monitor and report on project progress, including daily logs and updates to project management teams
- Help manage the site workforce, ensuring tasks are assigned and completed efficiently
- Address onsite issues and troubleshoot problems in coordination with the Superintendent and project manager
- Assist in maintaining project documentation including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and punch lists
- Support quality control efforts to ensure construction work meets or exceeds project specifications and design intent
- Attend project meetings and communicate effectively with stakeholders, including clients, architects, and engineers
- Help ensure site cleanliness, security, and overall organization throughout all phases of construction
Profile
The Assistant Superintendent - K-12 Projects in Baltimore will have:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of experience in construction or site supervision, preferably in a similar assistant superintendent role
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, safety protocols, building codes, and industry standards
- Familiarity with construction management software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend, PlanGrid) and Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities, with attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing project demands and timelines
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred
