Design Engineer | Manufacturing
The Product Design Engineer will play a key role in designing and improving complex products for the life science industry. This position in Chicago offers the opportunity to innovate within a collaborative engineering and manufacturing environment. This role will be on-site 5 days a week at my client's downtown Chicago location. Client Details

Description
- Develop and design innovative products for the life science industry, ensuring functionality and quality.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize product designs for manufacturability and cost-efficiency.
- Create detailed technical drawings, specifications, and documentation for new and existing products.
- Evaluate materials and components to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Conduct prototype testing and analysis to enhance product performance.
- Provide technical support during the product life cycle, including troubleshooting and improvements.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements to incorporate best practices into product designs.
Profile
- A degree in engineering, product design, or a related field.
- 5+ years' experience designing products for manufacturing - prior experience working with in-house manufacturing is required.
- Strong experience designing finished products with multiple sub-components.
- Strong technical skills in 3D modeling and CAD software.
- Knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes.
- A creative mindset with a focus on problem-solving and innovation.
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Job Offer
- Base salary estimated between $100,000 and $130,000, based on experience.
- Annual bonus incentive 5-10%.
