Description

We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Estimator to join our client's expanding team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and timely estimates for a variety of projects across the DMV region, with a focus on K-12 and higher education construction. As an Estimator, you will collaborate with project managers, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure that every bid reflects the scope and budgetary requirements of the project.

The Estimator / K-12 & Higher Ed Projects / Gaithersburg, MD will have the following responsibilities:

  • Develop cost estimates for a variety of construction projects
  • Collaborate with the project team to gather necessary information for accurate estimating
  • Analyze subcontractor and vendor bids
  • Assist in the preparation of bid proposals
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of construction costs, materials, and industry trends
  • Participate in project reviews and provide input on cost control strategies
  • Prepare and submit final reports to the project management team

Profile

The Estimator / K-12 & Higher Ed Projects / Gaithersburg, MD will have the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction estimating, with a focus on commercial, educational, or institutional projects
  • Proficient in estimating software
  • Strong understanding of construction documents, project specifications, and building codes
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Knowledge of cost estimating practices and techniques, including value engineering
  • Familiarity with the DMV region and its construction market is a plus
