Payroll Tax Manager
The Payroll Tax Manager will oversee payroll for 1,000 employees in North America. They must have experience in Workday and ADP.

Description
Responsibilities of the Payroll Tax Manager include:

Payroll Tax Compliance:
Ensure timely filing of federal, state, and local payroll taxes (e.g., Form 941, W-2s, 1099s).
Stay updated on payroll tax laws and ensure compliance.
Manage payroll tax calculations, withholdings, and payments.
Handle audits and respond to government inquiries on payroll tax matters.

Process Management:
Oversee payroll tax reporting across jurisdictions, ensuring accuracy and timely filings.
Reconcile payroll tax liabilities and payments with accounting.
Lead efforts to optimize payroll tax processes, including automation.

Team Leadership and Collaboration:
Train and guide the payroll team on tax matters.
Collaborate with HR, accounting, and other departments for smooth integration of payroll tax processes.
Support teams with payroll tax issues and act as a backup for the Payroll Manager.

Reporting and Analysis:
Prepare and present payroll tax reports to management and stakeholders.
Conduct audits to ensure compliance and resolve discrepancies.
Perform internal audits to confirm correct payroll tax deductions and filings.

Tax Filings & Documentation:
Manage filing of payroll forms (W-2s, 1099s, state/local returns) and maintain accurate records.
Ensure preparedness for year-end audits and reporting.

Audit and Investigations:
Lead payroll tax audits and assist with inquiries from tax authorities.
Investigate and resolve payroll tax discrepancies and disputes.
Profile
Qualifications of the Payroll Tax Manager include:
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (required).
- Financial services industry experience preferred.
CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) is preferred.
5-7 years of experience in payroll tax management, with at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial role.
In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations.
Experience using Workday Payroll software and ADP Smart Compliance tax filing system.
Familiarity with payroll processing.
Skills and Competencies:

Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Effective leadership and team collaboration skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Job Offer
- Base salary $110,000 - $150,000
