Project Manager - Public Construction

We are seeking a seasoned Project Manager with expertise in public construction to lead and deliver capital improvement projects across Northern New Jersey. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing projects for schools, municipal buildings, and other public sector developments from pre-construction through close-out.

Known for its commitment to quality, transparency, and community impact, the firm specializes in K-12 schools, higher education facilities, municipal buildings, and public safety infrastructure.

Description

• Project Management: Lead and oversee public sector construction projects ranging from $5M to $50M+

• Schedule Management: Manage all phases of project lifecycle including bidding, scheduling, budgeting, subcontractor management, and close-out

• Quality Control: Ensure compliance with NJ public contracting laws, DCA codes, prevailing wage requirements, and relevant regulatory standards

• Team Leadership: Coordinate with architects, engineers, school boards, municipal officials, and owner representatives

• Safety Compliance: Monitor field activities to ensure timely execution, safety compliance, and quality control

• Documentation: Maintain accurate project documentation and reporting for internal and external stakeholders

Profile

• Minimum 7 years of experience in construction project management, with at least 3 years in public construction in New Jersey

• Proven track record delivering K-12 school, municipal, or other government-funded projects

• Strong understanding of New Jersey public procurement and DCA/DOL compliance

• Excellent communication, documentation, and team leadership skills

• Proficiency with construction management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project, Bluebeam)

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred

• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites across Northern NJ
