Senior Legal Counsel

Global Consulting Organization seeking a Senior Legal Counsel with a strong background providing in-house legal support within the professional services or consulting industry. Hybrid, Midtown Manhattan role (3 days week in office) - the ideal candidate will have 5 years legal experience (some of which in-house) assisting a global professional services or consulting company.

Client Details

Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, this role acts as stand-alone in-house, Senior Counsel (with support from outside-counsel). Highly reputable global professional services/ consulting organization specialized in risk and consulting services for a B2B audience. The organization's clients are from a large range of industries including but not limited to law firms, financial services/ asset management, healthcare, technology, non-profit and other listed organizations. Headquartered in New York, this is a stand-alone legal role working directly with the Chief Operating Officer and US senior leadership team.

Description

The Senior Legal Counsel responsibilities include:

• Providing legal advice on a wide range of matters for this global organization.
• Review, negotiate, and draft complex commercial contracts and agreements.
• Work closely with the business to identify legal risks and propose creative solutions.
• Advise the business of new laws/ regulations, updating policies and procedures and running training.
• Managing outside counsel.
• Leading ad-hoc legal projects as required.
• Serve as primary point of contact providing legal advice to business stakeholders and the senior leadership team.
• Assisting with legal matters globally (engaging and managing outside counsel) as required where legal support is required overseas.

Profile

To be considered, Senior Legal Counsel candidates should have demonstrable experience and qualifications:

• A Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
• New York State Bar (in good standing)
• Some in-house experience working within a global consulting/ professional services or technology organization.
• Highly collaborative and communicative.
• Able to discuss legal matters clearly with non-legal stakeholders.
• Excellent negotiation, drafting and interpersonal skills.
• An ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Candidates must have the right to work in the US now and indefinitely in the future.

Job Offer

• An estimated salary range of $200,000 - $250,000, depending on experience.
