The Process Engineering Manager - Injection Molding will lead a team of engineers and technicians responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining injection molding processes for medical device and plastics components. Description

The Process Engineering Manager - Injection Molding will be responsible for the following:

  • Manage and mentor a team of process engineers and technicians.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.
  • Oversee all aspects of injection molding operations, including process development, troubleshooting, and optimization.
  • Apply advanced scientific molding principles to improve cycle times, reduce scrap, and enhance product quality.
  • Collaborate with tooling engineers on mold design and maintenance strategies.
  • Lead and execute Installation Qualification (IQ), Operational Qualification (OQ), and Performance Qualification (PQ) for molding processes and equipment.
  • Develop and maintain robust validation protocols in compliance with FDA, ISO 13485, and GMP requirements.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and reporting for regulatory audits.
  • Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for process deviations.
  • Maintain strict adherence to medical device regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with R&D, Quality, and Manufacturing teams on new product introductions.
  • Manage timelines, budgets, and resources for molding-related projects.
  • Evaluate and implement new molding technologies, automation, and tooling strategies.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.

Profile

The ideal Process Engineering Manager - Injection Molding will have the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Plastics Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred).
  • 7+ years of experience in injection molding, with at least 2 years in a leadership role within a regulated industry; medical device experience strongly preferred.
  • Proven expertise in scientific molding and process validation (IQ/OQ/PQ).
  • Strong knowledge of FDA regulations, ISO 13485, and GMP standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
  • RJG Master Molder certification or equivalent.
  • Experience with automation and robotics in molding operations.
  • Familiarity with mold design and tooling principles.
