New Legal Director vacancy with a well established, growing US and UK bank. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all financial transaction execution, ensuring compliance, and providing strategic guidance across credit, risk, internal legal and external counsel.

Description

The Legal Director (Transactions Management) role involves:

• Responsible for drafting all finance documents, working closely with credit and compliance to ensure all approvals and documentation is in place
• Strong project management skills - handling multiple transactions (typically 5-10 at any time)
• Provide strategic guidance on legal issues affecting the organization
• Ensure the company's legal compliance with relevant US laws and regulations
• Review and negotiate contracts and agreements
• Advise on legal risks and mitigation strategies
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure legal compliance
• Represent the company, supporting other teams, attending client meetings and guiding on solutions and best approach to client lending needs

Profile

The successful 'Legal Director' will have the following:

• A Juris Doctor degree from an accredited US law school
• NY State bar
• Practiced law, preferably in-house within a financial setting for 7+ years post J.D.
• Excellent negotiation, communication and collaboration skills
• Background providing financial transaction and lending legal advice across departments and to senior stakeholders/ board members
• High degree of initiative, professional ethics and integrity

Job Offer
