Director of Safety
Responsible for ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, implementing safety training programs, and promoting a culture of safety among employees. This role involves conducting risk assessments, investigating incidents, and collaborating with various departments to maintain a safe working environment.

Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and manage safety programs and policies to promote a culture of safety throughout the organization.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to food safety, workplace safety, and environmental standards.
- Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and areas for improvement.
- Lead investigations of safety incidents, near misses, and compliance violations, recommending corrective actions and preventative measures.
- Provide training and education to employees on safety protocols, compliance requirements, and best practices.
- Collaborate with various departments, including operations, human resources, and quality assurance, to integrate safety and compliance initiatives into daily operations.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in safety and compliance.
- Prepare and present reports to senior management on safety performance, compliance status, and areas for improvement.
Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Safety Management, Environmental Science, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in safety and compliance management, preferably within the food distribution or manufacturing industry.
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations, food safety standards (e.g., FDA, USDA), and environmental compliance.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and engage employees at all levels.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on training and team collaboration.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CSP, CHMM) are a plus.
