Engineering Manager- Plastics- Rochester, NH
The Engineering Manager will be the Engineering Leader of the business reporting directly into the CEO. They will play a pivotal part in the expansion of the business and engineering team.
Client Details
The organization is an expanding medical device component manufacturer with just under 100 people onsite seeking a key player in the growth and development of the organization through adding head count, developing new processes and driving innovative change.
Description
The Engineering Manager will be responsible for:
Design & Documentation: Support design criteria establishment, prepare specifications, design computations, drawings, models, and bills of material per project requirements. Review project drawings for quality and completeness.
Project Coordination & Reviews: Develop and participate in conceptual drawing and process flow reviews with other disciplines. Ensure consistency and integrity of all major equipment per codes and specifications.
Procurement & Vendor Coordination: Prepare mechanical bid packages (RFQs), review vendor documentation, coordinate major equipment design, and work with vendors to supply mechanical equipment.
Project Leadership & Mentorship: Lead small to mid-size multidisciplinary projects, act as a technical resource, and mentor less experienced engineers.
Cost & Scope Management: Evaluate and forecast costs for major equipment, assist in preparing engineering scope of work packages, and manage department budgets.
Additional Responsibilities: Ensure discipline deliverables are verified, oversee mechanical equipment compliance, and take on projects or tasks as requested by Senior Management.
Profile
The successful Engineering Manager will have what follows:
- Education & Experience: Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering with 5 to 10 years of leadership/management experience.
- Technical Expertise: Proficient in CAD software, ISO Quality Management Systems, and industry codes, standards, and specifications.
- Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Strong written and verbal communication, superior client service, and ability to collaborate effectively.
- Problem-Solving & Adaptability: Ability to multi-task, analyze and solve complex issues, and thrive in a constantly changing environment.
- Attention to Detail & Reliability: Diligent, thorough, tenacious, and detail-oriented with a strong sense of accountability.
- Organizational Skills: Strong prioritization, follow-up, and time management abilities to ensure quality outcomes.
