Director of Supply Chain

The Director of Supply Chain will be responsible for developing and executing a supply chain strategy that ensures efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and scalability while supporting our growth and customer satisfaction goals. This role will lead a cross-functional team and work closely with internal departments and external partners to manage procurement, logistics, inventory, demand planning, and supplier relationships.

My client is a growing food & beverage brand based in San Diego, known for our commitment to quality, innovation, and sustainability. As we scale, we're looking for a strategic and hands-on Director of Supply Chain to lead and optimize our end-to-end supply chain operations-from sourcing and production planning to warehousing and distribution.

Description

Director of Supply Chain Responsibilities:

• Develop and oversee the entire supply chain strategy, aligning with company goals and growth plans.

• Lead procurement and sourcing efforts to ensure high-quality, cost-effective ingredients and materials.

• Manage demand and production planning to balance inventory levels and meet customer demand.

• Optimize inventory management and forecasting processes.

• Oversee warehousing and 3PL relationships to ensure on-time delivery and order fulfillment.

• Identify and implement process improvements to drive efficiency, reduce costs, and mitigate risks.

• Collaborate with operations, finance, R&D, and commercial teams to align supply chain activities with broader business objectives.

• Develop KPIs and reporting tools to track performance, lead times, and cost metrics.

• Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, sustainability initiatives, and ethical sourcing standards.

Profile

Director of Supply Chain Qualifications:

• 8-12+ years of supply chain experience, with 3+ years in a leadership role, ideally in the food & beverage or CPG industry.

• Proven experience managing a high-growth supply chain in a fast-paced environment.

• Deep knowledge of procurement, logistics, inventory planning, and ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, or similar).

• Experience working with co-manufacturers, 3PLs, and ingredient suppliers.

• Strong analytical, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or related field (MBA preferred).
