Buyer/Planner
The Buyer/Planner role will have primary responsibility for purchasing and production planning activities to achieve business objectives and customer service goals. The Buyer/Planner is a flexible and versatile individual who is comfortable working in an early phase R&D environment.

Description
Responsibilities:
- Lead purchasing activities to acquire R&D materials, controlled material inventory, and services in a cost effective and timely manner.
- Execute and manage purchases in Epicor. Solicit quotations, negotiate pricing, provide analyses as needed.
- Expedite material deliveries per R&D timeline demands, production/lab shortages, or schedule changes.
- Work with site employees and Accounts Payable to resolve invoice and/or transaction discrepancies.
- Manage supply of/purchase consumable inventory related to facility operations and upkeep.
- Ship and receive through Epicor and supplemental systems, as required.
- Ensure all receiving documentation is correct and accompanies all packages.
- Supply interdepartmental communication for receipts and shipments daily.
- Review and maintain all shipping documents.
- Receive customer materials into secure area in accordance with GMP guidelines.
- Work closely with engineers and managers in identifying best in class suppliers.
- Facilitate receipt and distribution of vaporous materials in accordance with procedures.
- Implement process improvements to gain efficiencies, reduce costs, and align with lean principles.
- Lead Epicor planning projects and activites.
- Monitor long-term material demand to ensure site requirements are thoroughly satisfied.
- Identify purchase requirements from Epicor PO suggestions and independent demand for inventory, Service and MRO items.
- Plan and schedule production jobs to Production using Epicor to ensure on-time delivery of customer orders.
- Develop work instructions for new processes.
- Maintain an organized work area.
- Interface with suppliers to ensure performance expectations and optimal business relationships.
- Administer and issue Customer Materials to Production jobs.
- Analyze and support the inventory cycle count program to resolve any discrepancies.
- Lead routine cycle counts on controlled material inventory.
- Support kitting efforts to prevent project downtime and delays.
- Support packing and shipping of project materials, as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
