We are seeking a skilled Project Manager to oversee commercial and institutional construction projects throughout Nashville and Middle Tennessee. This role is ideal for a highly organized, detail‑focused leader who can manage budgets, schedules, field coordination, and client communication from preconstruction through closeout.

Our client is a long‑established Nashville‑based general contractor with more than 80 years of continuous operation, known for delivering high‑quality work with exceptional integrity. Their portfolio includes higher‑education facilities, historic renovations, multifamily, commercial buildings, medical facilities, hospitality projects, and major cultural landmarks across Tennessee.

They have a strong reputation for craftsmanship, collaborative delivery, and long‑standing relationships with repeat clients across institutional, nonprofit, and private‑sector markets.

Description

  • Oversee full project lifecycle from preconstruction through final turnover.
  • Develop and maintain project budgets, forecasts, schedules, and cost controls.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, consultants, subcontractors, and field teams to ensure timely and accurate execution.
  • Manage procurement, subcontractor buyout, change orders, RFIs, submittals, and all contract documentation.
  • Conduct regular jobsite visits to monitor quality, progress, logistics, and safety.
  • Lead OAC and internal project meetings to maintain alignment across stakeholders.
  • Troubleshoot project challenges and implement proactive solutions.
  • Ensure project execution aligns with company standards for safety, quality, communication, and client care.
  • Support and mentor assistant PMs, project engineers, and other junior staff.

Profile

  • 5-10+ years of experience managing commercial or institutional construction projects.
  • Background in one or more sectors such as education, historic renovation, hospitality, multifamily, medical, nonprofit, or commercial construction.
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing, means and methods, and project controls.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, especially when collaborating with design partners and owners.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, solve problems, and make informed decisions in fast‑moving environments.
  • Proficiency with construction software platforms and digital project management tools.
  • A proactive, relationship‑driven mindset with commitment to quality and client satisfaction.
