Grant Accountant
The Grant Accountant is responsible for the financial management, reporting, and compliance of government and private grants. This position plays a key role in ensuring accurate grant tracking, budget management, and reporting in alignment with organizational and funder requirements. The ideal candidate will have experience working in the non-profit sector and a strong understanding of grant regulations and accounting principles.

Description
Manage all aspects of post-award grant accounting, including budget tracking, expense allocations, and financial reporting
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual grant reports for internal management and external funders
Monitor grant spending to ensure compliance with funder guidelines and organizational policies
Collaborate with program managers and development staff to ensure proper allocation and use of grant funds
Assist with grant audits and ensure documentation is complete, accurate, and in compliance with federal, state, and private funding requirements (e.g., OMB Uniform Guidance)
Perform monthly reconciliations for grant-related accounts
Support the annual budget and audit processes as they relate to restricted funds
Maintain grant files and records in accordance with grantor requirements and internal policies
Assist in the preparation of financial data for grant proposals and renewals
Profile
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or progress toward CPA a plus)
3-5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in grant accounting within a non-profit organization
Strong knowledge of GAAP and fund accounting principles
Experience with federal, state, and private grant compliance and reporting
Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, MIP, Sage Intacct, or similar)
Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical abilities
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
