Project Manager - New construction k-12 - DC Metro
We are seeking a driven Project Manager to oversee a $34M new construction and renovation project in the DC Metro area. This role offers the chance to lead impactful community projects while working with a collaborative and experienced team.
Client Details
Founded in 1962, this construction management and general contracting firm has built a reputation for delivering high-quality municipal and community projects. With an office in Washington, DC, the company operates with a close-knit team of around 20 professionals spanning project management, estimating, field operations, finance, and administration. Their portfolio includes police stations, firehouses, community centers, schools, and other civic-focused facilities, with typical project values around $30M.
Description
As Project Manager, you will oversee all phases of the $34M construction project from planning through execution and closeout. Responsibilities include budget and schedule management, subcontractor coordination, client communication, risk mitigation, and ensuring quality and safety standards are met. You will collaborate with project teams across estimating, field staff, and finance to deliver successful outcomes on complex community-focused builds such as schools, municipal facilities, and public safety buildings.
Profile
5+ years of experience in construction project management, preferably on municipal or community-based projects.
Strong background in managing budgets of $20M+.
Skilled communicator able to liaise effectively with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
Knowledge of construction scheduling software and cost-control processes.
Proven ability to lead diverse teams and manage multiple moving parts with attention to detail.
