Sr. Field Service Tech - Pump and Motor repair-Maspeth, NY
My client is seeking a highly skilled and dependable Field Service Technician with expertise in pumps and electric motor repair. This role involves on-site troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of industrial pumps and electric motors at customer locations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical and electrical systems and will be comfortable working independently while maintaining excellent customer service standards.

Description
The key responsibilities of the Field Service Technician are:
On-Site Service & Repair
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair various industrial pumps and electric motors, including centrifugal, positive displacement, and submersible pumps, as well as AC/DC motors.
- Conduct detailed assessments to diagnose issues related to motor performance, wiring, bearings, and other mechanical and electrical components.
Installation & Commissioning
- Install, align, and test pumps and motors to ensure correct operation and compliance with manufacturer specifications.
- Perform on-site testing, including vibration analysis, flow tests, and electrical testing, to confirm performance and proper installation.
Preventive Maintenance
- Conduct scheduled maintenance on pumps and motors, including lubrication, alignment checks, and electrical inspections, to prevent unexpected breakdowns.
- Recommend and implement adjustments or upgrades to enhance performance and extend equipment life.
Customer Support & Training
- Provide technical support to customers, explaining repairs, preventive maintenance, and proper operation of equipment.
- Conduct training sessions to ensure customer staff can operate and maintain equipment safely and efficiently.
Documentation & Reporting
- Complete detailed service reports, including diagnostics, repairs, parts used, and recommendations for further action.
- Maintain accurate records of service activities, time, and materials used.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow safety protocols and adhere to OSHA and company safety guidelines during all service activities.
- Stay informed about industry standards and best practices related to pumps and motor repair.
Profile
The successful Field Service Technician will have:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in a related field (such as Electrical or Mechanical Technology) is preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in field service, specifically with pumps and/or electric motors.
- Strong knowledge of pump and motor mechanics, including seals, bearings, and electrical wiring.
- Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, schematics, and manuals.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and software tools for troubleshooting.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
