The FP&A Analyst will play a critical role in developing financial insights that support operational efficiency and strategic growth for the firm. This position focuses on budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and reporting while collaborating with department leaders to align financial strategies with organizational goals. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, experience in professional services, and a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
Description

Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Lead the preparation of annual budgets and monthly/quarterly forecasts, ensuring alignment with the firm's strategic objectives.
- Analyze financial performance and provide actionable insights to improve efficiency and profitability.

Variance Analysis:
- Prepare detailed variance analyses to explain deviations from budget and forecast, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Collaborate with practice group leaders to address financial discrepancies and optimize resource allocation.

Financial Reporting:
- Create and maintain comprehensive financial reports, dashboards, and presentations for leadership and stakeholders.
- Ensure timely delivery of accurate reports to support strategic decision-making.

Data Analysis & Modeling:
- Develop and maintain financial models to support long-term planning, scenario analysis, and performance tracking.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide insights to guide operational improvements.

Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Partner with various departments, including HR, IT, and operations, to align financial strategies with overall firm objectives.
- Support leadership in understanding financial implications of business decisions and changes.
Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; advanced certifications such as CPA, CFA, or MBA are a plus.
- 3+ years of experience in financial planning and analysis, preferably within a professional services or law firm environment.
- Advanced Excel skills, including financial modeling and data visualization; familiarity with financial planning tools and ERP systems is preferred.
