Construction Accountant

My client is actively seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Construction Accountant for a full-time, permanent position. The ideal candidate should have profound knowledge in property industry accounting and be familiar with Procore and Quickbooks.

Our client is a mid-sized, well-established General Contractor in the construction industry. With a strong presence in Phoenix, they are recognized for their commitment to excellence in commercial and residential construction.

Description

• As the Construction Accountant you will manage all phases of construction accounting, including job cost reporting and project billing.
• Process all projects A/P and A/R for the construction projects and operating company.
• Manage and process payroll for all construction and field staff.
• Regularly utilize Procore and Quickbooks to maintain accurate financial records.
• Collaborate with the finance team to streamline accounting processes and procedures.
• Conduct financial analysis and prepare detailed reports for management.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations in all accounting operations.
• Coordinate with project managers and ensure accurate project budgeting and financial forecasting.
• Handle monthly and annual closings with precision and timeliness.
• Prepare and review financial statements including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Provide support during audits and implement audit recommendations as needed.
• Perform ad-hoc accounting tasks as required

Profile

A successful Construction Accountant should have:

• A strong background in construction and construction project accounting specifically with general contractors.
• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is preferred.
• CPA, CMA would be an asset but is not required.
• Proficiency in using Procore and Quickbooks for accounting purposes is needed for this role.
• Comprehensive understanding of accounting principles and regulations.
• Excellent analytical skills to interpret financial data and make decisions.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members.
• This role is fully remote but you must reside in the greater Phoenix area.
