The Store Manager blends hands‑on store operations with HR support by leading onboarding, training, coaching, and team engagement across multiple locations. They also assist with daily store activities - including opening, closing, audits, and performance management - to ensure consistent operational standards and a positive employee experience. The Store Manager will strengthen store performance by uniting people development with daily operational excellence.

Our client is a well-established, high-end specialty retailer with a strong reputation for quality and excellence. They operate multiple locations and a large distribution center in the Bronx, serving both retail and wholesale customers. The organization values precision, organization, and customer satisfaction, and prides itself on delivering premium products and exceptional service.

The Store Manager is fully responsible for leading the day‑to‑day operations of the store while driving exceptional customer service, team performance, and store profitability. They will oversee all aspects of store operations, including opening and closing procedures, staffing, scheduling, merchandising, inventory management, and maintaining safety and compliance standards.

They will hire, train, and develop team members, ensuring the store has a strong talent pipeline and an engaging environment. They will coach employees, support performance management, and lead by example to uphold company values and customer service expectations. In addition, they analyze store KPIs, manage labor and product costs, and make operational decisions to achieve sales goals.

A successful candidate for this role will have a strong background in grocery, specialty food, or food & beverage retail, with firsthand experience in fast‑paced, customer‑centric store environments. They should be comfortable balancing both people leadership and operational execution, able to coach teams while also managing the daily rhythms of retail.

Occasional weekend work is required.

Description

  • Oversee daily store operations, including staffing, inventory management, and customer service.
  • Develop and implement strategies to achieve sales targets and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Lead and motivate a team to ensure productivity and adherence to company policies.
  • Lead new hire onboarding, training sessions, and ongoing team member development.
  • Serve as an additional HR contact for employee questions and concerns.
  • Monitor and manage budgets, sales reports, and financial performance.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and operational standards.
  • Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback professionally.
  • Collaborate with upper management to align store goals with company objectives.
