Manufacturing Lead - Medical Device - Wilmington, MA

The Manufacturing Lead is responsible for supporting hands‑on medical device production, ensuring high-volume sterile disposables and finished assemblies meet quality, performance, and regulatory expectations. This role contributes technical expertise to product launch, process development, and day‑to‑day manufacturing operations for a novel interventional therapy technology.

Description

In this role you will report directly to the Engineering Director and be responsible for:

  • Supporting hands‑on production of sterile medical device disposables and precision assemblies
  • Training and overseeing assemblers to ensure adherence to approved work instructions and quality standards
  • Modifying and maintaining manufacturing and hand‑assembly procedures
  • Handling production equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair
  • Providing support for testing, inspection, measurement, and gauge/tool validation
  • Ensuring compliance with cleanliness, labeling accuracy, calibration requirements, and production controls
  • Operating fully on-site within the production environment to support day‑to‑day manufacturing needs
  • Contributing technical and practical support to a rapidly scaling operation

Profile

The successful candidate will have

  • 5+ years of experience in high‑volume sterile medical device manufacturing
  • A BS or MS degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or a related engineering discipline
  • Experience supporting the manufacturability and qualification of disposable or reusable surgical instruments
  • Experience generating manufacturing documentation for design, risk, verification/validation, and production
  • Experience overseeing assemblers, training production personnel, and enforcing quality standards
  • Proficiency with process equipment qualifications such as IQ/OQ/PQ
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
