Estimator - Multifamily (Junior or Senior Level)

My client is a leading general contractor specializing in multifamily construction, and they're seeking an Estimator to join their team. This position offers the opportunity to work on exciting commercial projects with industry experts in a dynamic envrionment.

My client is a smaller family owned general contractor with a strong pipeline of projects that tend to fall in the 50 - 150 unit range. They have a strong workplace culture and great local relationships, having been in business for over 30 years.

Description

• Developed accurate cost estimates for multifamily projects, including labor, materials, and overhead.
• Collaborated with architects and engineers to create pre-construction budgets and updated estimates as project plans evolved.
• Reviewed blueprints and specifications to determine material quantities and labor requirements.
• Sourced and negotiated pricing for materials and subcontractor bids, ensuring competitive pricing and alignment with project scope.
• Identified project risks and incorporated contingency budgets for potential issues.
• Monitored and tracked project costs, providing regular reports and cost forecasts to stakeholders.
• Implemented cost-saving strategies and value engineering to optimize project budgets.
• Conducted post-project cost analysis and prepared final documentation for project close-out.

Profile

• 5+ year's experience in multifamily/commercial construction
• Well established tenure working for notable general contractors
• Complete understanding of the construction process
• Excellent communication skills with various parties including management, subcontractors, consultants, architects, vendors, and clients
• Self-motivated
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
• Willing to take on multiple responsibilities and complete a variety of tasks to complete projects on time
