Description
Seeking a Layout Field Engineer - Civil Construction - Charleston with a strong background in civil construction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform field layout and staking for earthwork, utilities, and structures using total stations and GPS/GNSS equipment.
- Establish and maintain control points and benchmarks; verify accuracy throughout the project.
- Conduct as-built surveys and provide updated drawings or reports to project teams.
- Import and manage CAD files and point data for layout and machine control.
- Set up and troubleshoot GPS/RTK systems, including base stations and rovers.
- Coordinate with superintendents and crews to ensure layout aligns with design and schedule.
- Maintain accurate documentation of layout activities, stake reports, and as-built data.
- Follow all safety procedures and quality standards during field operations.
Profile
The Layout Field Engineer - Civil Construction - Charleston should have:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Surveying, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2-4+ years of experience in construction layout or field engineering.
- Proficiency with total stations and GPS/GNSS equipment highlight preferred, but not required.
- Ability to read and interpret civil plans and drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Valid driver's license and ability to work outdoors in varying conditions.
