Electro-Mechanical Systems Engineer - Charleston, SC
The Global Engineering Group supports the engineering needs across all plants, including construction, machine design and rebuilds, process improvements, maintenance, equipment procurement, and installation. This role involves global responsibilities requiring electrical, mechanical, and software engineering expertise, CAD and troubleshooting skills, project management, and managing external resources, with regular travel to support sites worldwide.

My client, just 30 minutes North of Charleston, develops specialized materials used in a variety of industrial applications, including aerospace and manufacturing. Operating internationally, it emphasizes innovation and high-performance solutions to meet complex technical needs.
Description
You will report to the Global Engineering Manager and be responsible for:
Designing and installing electromechanical systems integrating electrical, mechanical, and software components
Supporting equipment upgrades and relocations with minimal operational disruption
Assisting maintenance teams in troubleshooting technical issues
Collaborating with and managing external engineering and construction resources
Conducting analysis and testing to validate system performance
Independently managing project planning and execution for new construction and conversions
Traveling regularly to global manufacturing sites for on-site support
Staying updated on electromechanical engineering advancements and applying best practices
Identifying and implementing innovative solutions to improve system efficiency
Providing technical expertise to ensure global project compliance with standards and regulations
Profile
A successful candidate will have
- Experience designing and installing electrical and maintenance systems
- Troubleshooting and project management of maintenance activities
- Experience assisting maintenance technicians
- Automation knowledge preferred, HMI/PLC
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time to other US sites
- Safety protocol understanding
