Construction Superintendent
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Construction Superintendent to oversee the daily operations of our commercial construction projects.
Client Details
Our client is an established commercial GC that has been in business for 30+ years focusing on the tri-state market.
Description
Project Oversight: Supervise and manage all aspects of construction on assigned commercial projects from ground-breaking to final occupancy.
Scheduling & Coordination: Develop and maintain construction schedules, coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to ensure timely completion of milestones.
Safety Management: Ensure a safe working environment by enforcing safety protocols, conducting regular safety meetings, and ensuring all team members comply with safety regulations.
Quality Control: Monitor quality of work and materials to meet project specifications, building codes, and client expectations.
Team Leadership: Lead, manage, and motivate on-site construction crews, subcontractors, and other project personnel, ensuring effective collaboration.
Client Liaison: Maintain positive relationships with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders, providing regular updates on project progress and addressing concerns as needed.
Budget & Cost Control: Oversee project budgets, manage costs, and monitor expenditures to ensure projects are completed within budget.
Problem Solving: Address and resolve any issues or delays that arise during construction, ensuring that solutions align with project goals and timelines.
Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of daily activities, construction logs, and project-related paperwork. Provide regular progress reports to management.
Compliance: Ensure all work complies with local building codes, zoning laws, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
Profile
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Construction Superintendent or similar role in commercial construction.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; a bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field is preferred.

Knowledge & Skills:
Strong understanding of construction processes, scheduling, and cost management.
In-depth knowledge of commercial construction methods, materials, and best practices.
Proficient in reading blueprints, construction drawings, and specifications.
Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
Familiarity with construction software and technology (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend, Microsoft Project).
Certifications (Preferred but not Required):
OSHA 30-Hour Certification
First Aid/CPR Certification
LEED Certification (if applicable)
Physical Requirements:
Ability to work in various weather conditions and be physically active on the job site.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and work at heights.
