Construction Estimator - Healthcare and Lab Construction
Currently hiring for a Construction Estimator to join one of Boston's most established General Contractors to work on complex projects in Boston!

Description
The Construction Estimator will:
- Review bid documents from clients - work scopes, sketches, overlays, or full project plans - to fully understand required scope of work
- Prior to developing an estimate/bid proposal, coordinate with the Construction Project Manager assigned to the project to review bid documents and agree on a plan of action.
- Perform complete and accurate quantity take-offs from project plans.
- Prepare bid packages/detailed work scopes by trade for distribution to subcontractors to clearly define work scope for the major trades involved.
- Request material quotes from vendors supplying materials/services.
- Maintain accurate files for vendor quotes and subcontractor bids.
- Obtain multiple quotes for trade & material services, review all quotes in detail to confirm required scope is included.
- Negotiate with service providers for better rates.
- Attend/lead bid walks with clients and subcontractors.
Profile
The successful Construction Estimator will have:
- Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Building Construction Technology, or related field preferred
- 5+ years of experience as a Construction Estimator
- Project experience in one of the core markets; healthcare, life science, academic, and/or commercial
- Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate multiple projects
- Strong computer/software skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
