Project Manager

Our client is seeking a highly organized and driven Project Manager with experience in SCA (School Construction Authority) and public sector construction projects to join the team.

Our client is a well-established general contractor with a proven track record of delivering high-quality public and institutional projects across New York City in addition to doing private work.

Description

• Manage multiple public sector projects from start to finish, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, procurement, and construction oversight.

• Coordinate and supervise field staff, subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants to ensure alignment with project goals.

• Prepare and review submittals, RFIs, change orders, payment requisitions, and daily/weekly project reports.

• Serve as the primary point of contact between the client (SCA or other public agencies), design professionals, and the internal team.

• Monitor project budgets and control costs through regular tracking and forecasting.

• Conduct regular site inspections to ensure safety, quality control, and schedule adherence.

• Participate in progress meetings, prepare meeting minutes, and follow up on action items.

• Manage project closeout procedures including punch lists, warranty documentation, and turnover packages.

Profile

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field.

• Minimum of 5-8 years of experience managing construction projects in the NYC public sector (SCA experience required).

• Strong knowledge of public procurement processes, prevailing wage requirements, and NYC agency protocols.

• Proficiency with construction management software (Procore, Microsoft Project, Primavera, etc.).

• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.

• Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.

• OSHA 30-Hour Certification required; SCA CM certification preferred.

• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. and able to travel to job sites across NYC.
