Project Manager
Our client is seeking a highly organized and driven Project Manager with experience in SCA (School Construction Authority) and public sector construction projects to join the team.
Client Details
Our client is a well-established general contractor with a proven track record of delivering high-quality public and institutional projects across New York City in addition to doing private work.
Description
Manage multiple public sector projects from start to finish, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, procurement, and construction oversight.
Coordinate and supervise field staff, subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants to ensure alignment with project goals.
Prepare and review submittals, RFIs, change orders, payment requisitions, and daily/weekly project reports.
Serve as the primary point of contact between the client (SCA or other public agencies), design professionals, and the internal team.
Monitor project budgets and control costs through regular tracking and forecasting.
Conduct regular site inspections to ensure safety, quality control, and schedule adherence.
Participate in progress meetings, prepare meeting minutes, and follow up on action items.
Manage project closeout procedures including punch lists, warranty documentation, and turnover packages.
Profile
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
Minimum of 5-8 years of experience managing construction projects in the NYC public sector (SCA experience required).
Strong knowledge of public procurement processes, prevailing wage requirements, and NYC agency protocols.
Proficiency with construction management software (Procore, Microsoft Project, Primavera, etc.).
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
OSHA 30-Hour Certification required; SCA CM certification preferred.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. and able to travel to job sites across NYC.
