Safety Manager - Multifamily Construction - Richmond VA
A nationally ranked general contractor is seeking a Safety Manager to support large-scale multifamily construction projects in the Southern Virginia area. Description
We are seeking a Safety Manager to work on safety operations across multiple construction sites, ensuring compliance, minimizing risk, and fostering a culture of safety excellence.
- Ensure full compliance with company safety standards and OSHA regulations
- Identify risks and hazards; develop and implement effective countermeasures
- Deliver safety training to company staff and subcontractors
- Audit subcontractor records and documentation
- Lead safety orientations and conduct daily site safety audits
- Maintain and inspect base building fire protection systems
- Inspect fall protection anchors and perform weekly fire/risk audits
- Organize and lead Safety Standdowns
- Enforce the company's Zero Tolerance safety program
- Investigate incidents including injuries, theft, and property damage
- Develop site-specific Emergency Action Plans (EAPs)
- Serve as the primary contact for OSHA inspections and insurance audits
- Maintain accurate site safety records
- Conduct COVID contact tracing and manage related data entry
- Support policy development and represent the company on committees and professional councils
- Take on additional duties as assigned
Profile
- Minimum of 3 years of safety experience in construction with a general contractor or large subcontractor
- Strong attention to detail, multitasking ability, and excellent communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; familiarity with ProCore, BlueBeam, or similar software preferred
- Must have OSHA 10, OSHA 501 and OSHA 500.
- Must obtain IHMM Certified Safety Management Practitioner (CSMP) credential within 6 months if not already certified, and maintain it throughout employment
Job Offer
- Base Salary: $85,000-$115,000
- Bonus: Up to 50% annually
