Safety Manager - Multifamily Construction - Richmond VA

Description

We are seeking a Safety Manager to work on safety operations across multiple construction sites, ensuring compliance, minimizing risk, and fostering a culture of safety excellence.

• Ensure full compliance with company safety standards and OSHA regulations
• Identify risks and hazards; develop and implement effective countermeasures
• Deliver safety training to company staff and subcontractors
• Audit subcontractor records and documentation
• Lead safety orientations and conduct daily site safety audits
• Maintain and inspect base building fire protection systems
• Inspect fall protection anchors and perform weekly fire/risk audits
• Organize and lead Safety Standdowns
• Enforce the company's Zero Tolerance safety program
• Investigate incidents including injuries, theft, and property damage
• Develop site-specific Emergency Action Plans (EAPs)
• Serve as the primary contact for OSHA inspections and insurance audits
• Maintain accurate site safety records
• Conduct COVID contact tracing and manage related data entry
• Support policy development and represent the company on committees and professional councils
• Take on additional duties as assigned

Profile

• Minimum of 3 years of safety experience in construction with a general contractor or large subcontractor
• Strong attention to detail, multitasking ability, and excellent communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; familiarity with ProCore, BlueBeam, or similar software preferred
• Must have OSHA 10, OSHA 501 and OSHA 500.
• Must obtain IHMM Certified Safety Management Practitioner (CSMP) credential within 6 months if not already certified, and maintain it throughout employment

Job Offer

• Base Salary: $85,000-$115,000
• Bonus: Up to 50% annually
