Fiduciary Accountant
A well-established trust and estates-focused law and financial services firm is seeking a skilled fiduciary accountant to join its accounting team. This role is essential for managing the tax and accounting responsibilities associated with complex trusts and estates. Candidates must have direct experience preparing fiduciary tax returns and probate accounting and be comfortable operating in a professional, fully on-site environment.

Please note this role can be located in Stamford or West Hartford.
Description
- Prepare federal and state fiduciary income tax returns (Form 1041 and equivalents)
- Prepare federal estate tax returns (Form 706) and applicable state estate tax returns
- Prepare federal gift tax returns (Form 709)
- Execute trust and estate administration duties
- Prepare probate accounting and related supporting filings
- Maintain financial records and organize client investment information
- Track deadlines to ensure timely and accurate filings
- Analyze, abstract, and organize financial statements and supporting documentation
Profile
- 5-10 years of fiduciary accounting experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred
- Must have direct experience preparing Forms 1041, 706, and 709
- Familiarity with Form 1040 and state individual income tax returns a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/tax preparation software (e.g., Estate Val (EVP), ProSystem FX, FastTax)
- Strong understanding of trust and estate procedures
- Excellent organizational, communication, and time-management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
