Application Security Specialist, VP

The Application Security Specialist will be responsible for ensuring the security of software applications within the financial services sector. This role requires expertise in identifying vulnerabilities, implementing security measures, and working collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Description

• Identify, assess, and mitigate security vulnerabilities in applications.
• Collaborate with development teams to integrate security best practices into the software development lifecycle.
• Conduct regular security assessments, including penetration testing and code reviews.
• Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and guidelines for application security.
• Monitor and respond to security incidents related to applications promptly.
• Provide training and guidance to internal teams on application security protocols.
• Stay updated on the latest security trends, threats, and technologies in the financial services industry.
• Prepare detailed reports and documentation on security findings and recommendations.

Profile

• MUST HAVE vast experience analyzing DAST/SAST/SCA scans.
• This person needs to be able to understand the results, assess them and determine what a fix looks like for the identified vulnerability. Must have a deep understanding of code vulnerabilities.
• A strong background in application security within the financial services industry preferred but open to other heavily regulated environments as well.
• Knowledge of security frameworks, such as OWASP, and experience with penetration testing tools.
