Staff Accountant
We are seeking a detail-oriented and mission-driven Staff Accountant to join our nonprofit organization's finance team. The Staff Accountant will play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, maintaining compliance with grant and donor requirements, and supporting the organization's day-to-day accounting operations.

Description
Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, including preparing journal entries, accruals, and monthly account reconciliations
Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring accurate coding and timely payments/collections
Prepare financial reports for grants, donations, and funding sources
Track and reconcile restricted and unrestricted funds in accordance with donor and grant agreements
Assist with audit preparation, including gathering supporting documentation and responding to auditor inquiries
Support the development of organizational and departmental budgets and forecasts
Ensure compliance with GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards (FASB, IRS guidelines)
Maintain accurate records of financial transactions and support documentation
Assist in the implementation of internal controls and financial procedures
Profile
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a nonprofit environment
Knowledge of fund accounting and familiarity with grant reporting requirements
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, MIP Fund Accounting, or similar) and Microsoft Excel
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
