Senior Manager, General Accounting

We are seeking a detail-oriented, proactive, and experienced Senior Manager of General Accounting to join our dynamic Finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the general accounting functions, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and driving process improvements.

Description

  • Lead and manage the general accounting team to ensure the accurate and timely preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and company policies.

  • Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring all transactions are recorded, reconciled, and reported accurately within the required timelines.

  • Review and analyze financial reports, balance sheets, income statements, and other financial statements to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with regulatory requirements.

  • Maintain and monitor internal controls to ensure compliance with corporate policies, accounting standards, and applicable regulations. Lead efforts to improve the internal control environment.

  • Identify opportunities to streamline and improve accounting processes, leveraging technology and best practices to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.

  • Manage, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting team. Provide guidance, coaching, and professional development to foster growth and ensure alignment with team and company objectives.

  • Partner with other departments, including Finance, Operations, and IT, to support business initiatives, resolve accounting-related issues, and provide financial insights.

  • Support management with ad-hoc financial analysis, reporting, and decision-making.

Profile

  • Accounting degree, CPA preferred but not required
  • At least 8+ years of experience; combined private and public accounting experience preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word, experience with NetSuite preferred but not required
  • Ability to prepare and review financial analysis and accounting schedules, as needed
  • Ability to analyze complex transactions and research appropriate accounting
  • Experience in evaluating and implementing accounting policies and practices
