We are working with a growing Manufacturing company located near Melbourne, FL in their search to add an Accounting Manager to the team. This Accounting Manager will manage a team of 4 employees and will report into the Director of Accounting. The ideal candidate will have management experience, 4+ years experience, manufacturing industry, experience, will be a self-starter and a go-getter. Description
The Accounting Manager - Manufacturing will be responsible for the following:
- Maintain accuracy of the General Ledger and subsidiary ledgers in accordance with GAAP.
- Prepare and post all Journal entries.
- Plan, organize and perform the monthly, quarterly and annual financial close and coordinate preparation of financial statements with Director.
- Perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations and review with Director.
- Review income statement and prepare variance analysis to budget/forecast as necessary.
- Coordinate with GM and HRM to prepare labor forecast.
- Assist in control of expenditures.
- Code expenses and expense reports.
- Review and update standard costs in the ERP system.
- Lead the finance function in the year-end physical inventory.
- Provide backup for other financial functions including Payroll, Accounts Receivable cash posting and application, and Accounts Payable.
- Perform internal audits as necessary.
- Supervise accounting personnel. Monitor performance and provides prompt and objective coaching and counseling.
- Adhere to and implement all corporate financial policies, procedures and guidelines.
- Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions.
- Prepare reports to assist other departments with understanding and properly using financial data.
- Generate ideas for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
- Understand and follow all applicable ISO and job specific procedures
Profile
The Accounting Manager - Manufacturing will have the following qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Accounting, Finance, or General Business
- Masters degree preferred but not required
- 4+ years of experience within a Manufacturing accounting setting
- Management or mentorship experience is required
- CPA is a plus but not required
- ERP System experience is required
- ADP experience is a plus
- Payroll experience and Inventory/Costing is a plus
Job Offer
The successful Accounting Manager - Manufacturing will be rewarded with the following:
- Base salary of $110,000-$140,000
