Estimator

The Commercial Estimator will be responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates for commercial construction projects in Manhattan. You will work closely with project managers, architects, and clients to ensure accurate and competitive bids, helping secure projects while managing costs and maintaining profitability.

Description

• Prepare accurate, detailed cost estimates for commercial construction projects, including labor, materials, and subcontractor costs.

• Work closely with project teams and clients to understand project requirements, scope, and constraints.

• Analyze and review project drawings and specifications to identify potential risks or cost-saving opportunities.

• Solicit and evaluate bids from subcontractors and suppliers to ensure the best possible value for clients.

• Develop comprehensive bid packages and coordinate the bidding process.

• Review contract documents and collaborate with project managers to identify any discrepancies between project scope and budget.

• Keep up to date with trends in the Manhattan construction market, including pricing, permitting, and regulations, to maintain competitive and accurate estimates.

• Provide ongoing support throughout the project lifecycle, adjusting estimates as necessary and providing guidance on cost-related issues.

Profile

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial estimating, with direct experience working in Manhattan. You should have a deep understanding of local construction costs, regulations, and logistical challenges specific to the city. Proficiency in estimation software, strong attention to detail, and excellent communication skills are essential. A proactive, solutions-oriented approach is crucial for success in this fast-paced environment, as well as the ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders.

• 4+ years of estimating experience in commercial construction, with a focus on Manhattan projects.

• In-depth knowledge of cost estimation processes, construction materials, and methods.

• Strong familiarity with Manhattan's construction market, including regulations, permitting, and logistics.

• Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Excel.

• Ability to work collaboratively with project teams and communicate effectively with clients.
