Estimator - Commercial and Residential Construction
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Estimator to join our team and focus on commercial and luxury residential projects. You will be responsible for accurately estimating project costs, analyzing bids, and providing comprehensive cost assessments for construction and renovation projects.

General Contracting firm with 10 years experience working on commercial and luxury residential projects.
Description
- Cost Estimation: Utilize your expertise to accurately estimate project costs by reviewing project plans, specifications, and relevant documents, including architectural and engineering drawings.
- Bid Analysis: Evaluate bids from subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to determine the most competitive and suitable options for the project. Analyze and compare the costs, materials, and labor estimates provided by different vendors.
- Cost Assessments: Provide comprehensive cost assessments and detailed breakdowns of project budgets to stakeholders, including project managers, architects, and clients. Present the estimates and cost analyses in a clear and concise manner, highlighting key cost drivers and potential savings.
- Value Engineering: Collaborate with the project team to identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving strategies without compromising quality or design integrity. Suggest alternative materials, construction methods, or suppliers to optimize project costs.
- Cost Control: Monitor and control project costs throughout the life cycle of the project. Collaborate closely with the project team to track expenses, identify cost overruns, and implement corrective measures to keep projects within budget.
- Vendor Relations: Establish and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors. Evaluate their performance, negotiate pricing, and ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of cost estimates, bid analyses, change orders, and project-related documentation. Generate reports and presentations to communicate project costs and progress to stakeholders.
Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or a related field (preferred)
- 2+ years of experience as an estimator
- Proficiency in cost estimation software and tools, as well as Microsoft Excel, PlanSwift, BlueBeam, On Screen Takeoff
