Description
The CNC Manufacturing Engineer's Responsibilities Include:
- Evaluate product designs for manufacturability, tolerance adherence, quality compliance, and cost efficiency
- Identify and design or procure fixtures and gauges needed for new components
- Create detailed manufacturing documents, including setup sheets, sketches, and shop floor instructions
- Program CNC machines, troubleshoot startup challenges, and fine-tune cutting parameters to maximize efficiency and tool longevity
- Diagnose and resolve machinery and process issues alongside shop floor staff and engineering teams
- Operate CNC lathes, machining centers, and various manufacturing equipment hands-on
- Work collaboratively with engineering, quality assurance, supervision, and operations to enhance productivity and product quality
- Engage in root cause analysis and drive corrective actions to address quality concerns
- Support the training of machine operators on operational procedures and specific task workflows
Profile
Ideal CNC Manufacturing Engineer:
- Associate's degree or equivalent education
- Proficiency with CAD/CAM software for drawing, design, and dimensioning
- Over 5 years of CNC machining experience, preferably with turning and milling
- Experience with MRP/ERP systems is an advantage
- Strong understanding of machine shop operations and practices
