Manufacturing Engineer
As Manufacturing Engineer, you will develop manufacturing methods and procedures to efficiently process customer orders.

Our Client specializes in advanced surface engineering technologies, offering a comprehensive suite of services including precision machining, precision finishing, and thermal spray coatings-all under one roof in a 40,000 sq. ft. facility .
Description
- Duties include new job quotations, Job Standard development, tool design, customer interface and the coordination with Production Control, Purchasing and Sales to assure that delivery requirements are met.
- Job Quotations: In response to a customer request for quotation, it is the Engineer's responsibility to develop an accurate Cost Estimate which includes the sequence of operations, cycle times, tooling requirements, outside vendor requirements, inspection requirements, shipping and handling methods and required lead times necessary to complete a customer order.
- Job Standard Development: On receipt of a customer order, it is the Engineer's responsibility to develop a Job Standard using the Cost Estimate and/or an existing Job Standard which is to be used by Manufacturing to produce the required customer parts. This development includes a review of all Purchase Order/Contract requirements to assure that all drawing, specification and special customer requirements are included and accounted for in the Job Standard which is issued to Manufacturing as a Work Order Traveler for that particular job.
- It is the Engineer's responsibility to update the Job Standard to reflect changes in the manufacturing methods as necessary.
- Tool Design: It is the Engineer's responsibility to design tools, jigs and fixtures which are necessary to produce quality parts in the most cost-effective manner to satisfy customer Purchase Order/Contract requirements. Consideration as to ease of use, tool life, volume of parts, and cost to produce are factors which will determine the extent of tool requirements.
- The Engineer is responsible for coordinating with Production Control work load priorities to assure that tool design and Job Standard release schedules are compatible with customer delivery requirements
Profile
Required Qualifications
- At least 2 years of experience working in a regulated manufacturing environment (Aerospace, Automotive, Medical, etc.)
- Familiarity with Office365, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Proficient in SolidWorks or equivalent 3D modeling software
- Ability to create and interpret manufacturing drawings
- Experience with using and handling Measuring & Test Equipment (M&TE), including but not limited to calipers, micrometers, indicators, comparators, etc.
- Ability to apply design for manufacture (DFM) principles
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficient in SolidCAM or equivalent CAM software
- Competent in G-Code & M-Code CNC Programming
- Functional understanding of control systems, control panels, and/or industrialrobotic programming
- Experience working in a machine shop (milling, turning, grinding), specificallywith stainless steels, Inconel, and other super-alloys
- Experience working with additive manufacturing, especially with FDM printing
- Experience creating manufacturing work instructions and shop routers
- Experience interpreting technical specifications (material specs, process specs,AMS, ASTM, etc.)
- Experience working with thermal spray coatings and/or solid film lubricantsapplications
- Experience working in an ISO9001/AS9100, FAA Part 145, and/or NADCAP environment
Job Offer
- Salary Range: $80,000 - $120,000
