Our client is the leader in their respective industry that manufactures a product line serving consumer, commercial, and government purposes. Their products are almost 100% exclusively sourced from the United States as they pride themselves on providing a product that is a staple in American Society. They seek a Quality Manager to come in and oversee the quality department at the Crystal Lake plant. They look for someone who is ambitious, driven, and creative to implement their own style to improve upon an already historically successful organization.
Description
- This position is responsible to plan, direct and control manufacturing product quality, quality systems and improvements.
- Contributions of this manager will directly support the companys operational strategy and enhance team performance.
- Manage the quality department process inspectors.
- Lead and Implement a Quality System comparable to ISO9001, QS9000, and TS16494.
- Manage the customer complaint system, which will include return analysis, actionable data collection, and improvements implemented in order to improve the product quality.
- Work with shop floor managers, supervisors, and operators to drive quality improvements.
- Summarize and report defect analysis, corrective actions, implementation status and effectiveness.
- Develop and document production quality control plans in order to verify and ensure all stated production and product characteristic are met.
- Implement Gage R and R and process capability studies.
- Perform internal and supplier quality system audits to ensure quality systems are being maintained and improved.
- Participate and Lead Lean/ Kaizen events.
- Reduce Scrap cost throughout the facility.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships within the Manufacturing team.
- Set personal goals and objectives to stay abreast of and apply world-class quality practices.
- All other duties as directed by supervisor.
Profile
- Undergraduate degree in Engineering or equivalent
- Six Sigma/Lean experience
- 3-5 years experience in quality management
- ASQ Certified
- Exposure to quality systems in organization that do welding
- Mechanical aptitude, strong quantitative skills, financial competency
- Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work with groups across disciplines
- Self-starter with high energy level
- Able to effectively communicate with all levels of Associates up to and including Senior Management
Job Offer
- Base salary between 120k-140k depending on experience
- 10% bonus paid out annually
