Project Engineer - Civil / Site Development - Woodbridge, VA
Client Details
Our client is a civil sitework and land development firm offering turnkey construction services across the region. Established in 2014, they have completed more than 500 projects to date and operate three internal divisions covering estimating, civil construction, and land development services.
Annual Revenue: $25M-$30M projected for 2025
Employees: ~100 across field and office
Backlog: $40M+
Project Locations: Typically within 60 miles of their Woodbridge office, with active work in Fairfax, Prince William County, and an upcoming data center project in Thornburg, VA
Average Project Size: ~$2.5M, with projects ranging from small commercial work to large transportation and infrastructure projects up to $15M+
Reputation: Highly regarded for communication, quality, and repeat business (50% renegotiated with existing clients)
Description
- Support Project Managers with day-to-day project execution
- Assist with submittals, RFIs, change orders, and document control
- Track project schedules, costs, and progress
- Coordinate with field teams, subcontractors, and vendors
- Help maintain project budgets and job cost reporting
- Participate in project meetings and client coordination
- Support closeout documentation and project handoff
This is a full-time, in-office role (M-F) based out of Woodbridge, VA.
Profile
A degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field
2-3 years of experience in a Project Engineer or similar role
- Background in civil construction or site development preferred
- Experience supporting ground-up construction projects
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Project and Excel preferred
Job Offer
Bonus: 2%-15% performance-based (project financials, leadership behaviors, client feedback)
Mileage reimbursement for site visits
PTO: 2 weeks PTO + 1 week sick time, with an additional PTO week added at 3-year tenure
