Contract Attorney - Banking
Bank is seeking a Contract Attorney to support a variety of internal functions, handling a wide range of vendor and commercial agreements as well as loan agreements. This is a 6 month contract.

Description
The Contract Attorney will work with a small legal team and will be responsible for handling agreements, and supporting different lines of business on a variety of financial services legal matters. Special projects may be assigned as they come up. Responsibilities include:
- Review, draft and/or revise (as applicable) various legal agreements, including but not limited to, vendor service agreements (with a focus on data protection, cyber security and information security clauses), outside counsel engagement letters, syndicated and bilateral loan agreements and various types of transaction agreements and amendments to such agreements.
- Provide general legal advice with respect to the conduct of a major financial institution's operations, including, but not limited to, the assessment and mitigation of the legal risks that may arise in the conduct of its operations, its compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and data protection, information security and confidentiality obligations and requirements.
- Monitor non-performing loans and prepare restructure or exit legal documents.
Profile
- JD
- NY Bar
- 3+ years of relevant work experience as an attorney working on a wide range of agreements, preferably within financial services
- Advanced knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Suite; especially Word and Excel, including creating and using pivot tables
- Must be a self-starter, have an ability to successfully navigate an organization that is busy, problem solve, and use critical thinking skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; in particular editing for grammar and punctuation
- Demonstrated ability to manage a high volume of litigation matters in an administrative capacity and execute on process in a timely manner
- Proven to be highly organized, execute with excellence despite short deadline pressures and balance competing projects
