Senior Project Manager - Ground Up Multi-Family
Client Details
Our client is a Chicago‑based general contractor specializing in urban, ground‑up multi‑family and mixed‑use developments. Their portfolio includes mid‑rise residential buildings with retail or commercial components, delivered in dense downtown and neighborhood environments with complex logistics and stakeholder coordination.Description
- Manage ground‑up mid‑rise multi‑family and mixed‑use construction projects
- Lead projects from preconstruction through final closeout
- Develop and control detailed project schedules and budgets
- Oversee subcontractor bidding, buyout, and contract administration
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, city inspectors, and ownership teams
- Ensure strict compliance with City of Chicago building codes and regulations
- Lead site safety initiatives and enforce OSHA requirements
- Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and cost forecasting
- Partner with Superintendents to maintain schedule, safety, and quality
- Serve as the primary client‑facing representative for the project
Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
- 8-10+ years of experience managing ground‑up multi‑family construction
- Strong experience with mid‑rise and mixed‑use urban projects
- Deep knowledge of City of Chicago building codes and permitting processes
- Proven success managing large subcontractor scopes in dense urban sites
- OSHA 30 certification required
- Proficiency with Procore and Microsoft Project
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
