Corporate Counsel (In-House)

As a Corporate Counsel (In-House) in the fintech/ financial services industry, you will provide legal support and guidance to business units, providing corporate counsel, contract review and wider legal counsel ensuring compliance with regulations and mitigating legal risks. This hybrid position is based in Midtown, New York, and offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced legal department.

Description

As In-House Corporate Counsel you will:

• Provide legal advice and support on contract review, commercial license agreements, corporate governance, contracts, and regulatory matters.
• Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of agreements, including vendor, client, and partnership contracts and commercial licenses.
• Collaborate with internal teams to assess and mitigate legal risks.
• Assist in managing relationships with external counsel as needed.
• Support the legal team in corporate and commercial legal matters and risk management strategies.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of company policies and procedures.
• Stay updated on legal trends and changes within the financial services industry.

Profile

The successful Corporate Counsel (In-House) should have:

• A Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Membership in good standing with the New York state bar association.
• 2-4 years Big Law experience, ideally in Corporate/ Commercial or M&A practice groups.
• Strong knowledge of corporate, commercial and M&A matters (preferable not essential).
• Proven ability to draft, negotiate, and review legal documents and contracts effectively.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively across teams.
