We are currently partnered up with a growing Manufacturing company in their search to add a Mechanical Design Engineer with Rectifier experience due to growth within the company. This position will report into the General Manager. The Mechanical Design Engineer - Rectifier will work with the team to mechanically design power supply products on time and within budget, while following the customer specifications, industry standards and direction from the electrical and project engineers. Description
The Mechanical Design Engineer - Rectifiers will be responsible for the following:
Design and develop mechanical components and enclosures for high-power rectifiers, including sheet metal, heat sinks, and cooling systems.
Perform thermal and structural analysis to ensure system reliability under high electrical loads.
Collaborate with electrical engineers to optimize layouts for PCB mounting, busbars, and high-power connectors.
Develop CAD models and detailed engineering drawings using software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or CREO.
Conduct design validation through prototyping, testing, and simulation.
Ensure compliance with industry standards such as UL, CE, and IEEE for mechanical safety and performance.
Work with manufacturing teams to transition designs from prototype to production, optimizing for cost, manufacturability, and assembly.
Manage bill of materials (BOM) and documentation for all mechanical designs.
Evaluate and implement cooling technologies such as forced air, liquid cooling, and heat pipe systems.
Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues in existing power supply products.
Profile
The ideal The Mechanical Design Engineer - Rectifiers will have the following qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (Master's preferred).
5+ years of experience in mechanical design for power electronics, specifically high-power rectifiers or similar applications.
Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling and drafting (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or equivalent).
Strong understanding of thermal management principles, including heat dissipation, conduction, and airflow dynamics.
Experience with DFM/D
Job Offer
The successful Mechanical Design Engineer - Rectifiers will be rewarded with the following:
- Base Salary of $90,000-$140,000 depending on experience
