My client is a company that specializes in woodworking and power tools and accessories. They primarily cater to the woodworking, home improvement, and construction industries by providing innovative products designed to make projects easier and more precise. They offer a range of products from drilling, routing accessories, clamping, sawing, door, and cabinet hardware installation tools selling into woodworking, cabinetmaking, consumer goods, home improvements, and construction industries.

Description

  • Identify and Pursue New Sales Opportunities: Actively identify, prospect, and engage with potential customers in the assigned territory, driving new business through both inbound and outbound sales activities.

  • Build and Maintain Relationships: Cultivate strong, long-lasting relationships with key decision-makers in existing and new accounts to ensure customer retention and satisfaction. Provide excellent customer service and support to maximize business opportunities.

  • Account Management: Manage a portfolio of existing accounts, ensuring growth, customer satisfaction, and effective resolution of any issues or concerns. Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities to maximize revenue.

  • Sales Presentations and Product Demonstrations: Conduct in-person and virtual sales presentations, product demonstrations, and training sessions to showcase the benefits and features of the company's powertool accessories, positioning them as solutions for the customers' needs.

  • Competitive Analysis and Market Intelligence: Continuously monitor and analyze competitors' products, pricing, and sales strategies to stay ahead of industry trends. Use this information to adjust sales tactics and pricing strategies to maintain a competitive edge.

  • Develop Sales Forecasts and Budgets: Prepare accurate and timely sales forecasts, setting clear targets and milestones to measure progress. Ensure that budgets are adhered to and financial targets are met.

  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with marketing, product development, and customer service teams to align sales strategies with overall business goals. Provide feedback from customers to help improve products and services.

  • Negotiate Contracts and Pricing: Lead contract negotiations with customers to secure favorable terms and ensure profitability for both the company and the customer. Demonstrate a deep understanding of pricing structures and offer customized solutions where appropriate.

  • Report on Sales Performance: Regularly track and report sales activities, results, and trends to management. Provide data-driven insights into territory performance and recommend actions to optimize sales growth.

  • Attend Industry Events and Trade Shows: Represent the company at industry trade shows, conferences, and networking events to build brand awareness, develop new relationships, and stay informed on industry trends.

  • Use CRM and Sales Tools: Effectively use customer relationship management (CRM) software and sales tools to track interactions, manage sales pipelines, and analyze customer data to drive sales strategy.

Profile

  • 3+ years selling power tool products - drilling, sawing, clamping, etc.
  • Selling into consumer goods - Home Depot, Target, Walmart, Ace Hardware, Lowe's, etc.
  • No degree required
  • Travel - 50% - overnight for trade shows
  • Location - on-site in Elgin, IL (when not travelling)
