Quality Engineer - Automotive Manufacturer | Streamwood, IL
This Quality Engineer position is with one of our clients that serves the automotive industry, manufacturing fasteners and various precision metal components for top OEMs. They are looking for a customer-oriented Quality Engineer to join their growing team.

Description
- Handle customer complaints and corrective actions for major automotive OEMs
- Work on non-conformance reporting and preventative actions
- Collaborate with site-level leaders to understand quality issues, work through containment and validation
- Report out to leadership groups on site and at different sites to ensure alignment on customer quality
- Involvement in ISO9001 audits
- Work through root cause analysis and general problem solving with methods like 8D, 5Why, Ishikawa, and more

Profile
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field
- 3+ years of quality engineering experience in a metals or automotive environment
- Proficiency with ISO9001
- Strong ability to communicate with customers and handle corrective actions
- Experience with problem solving - 8D, 5Why, Fishbone, Ishkawa, etc
- Experience with control plans and PFMEA
- Knowledge of IATF 16949 a plus
- Six Sigma/SPC knowledge a plus
- APQP/PPAP experience a plus
