Assistant Project Manager
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Construction Assistant Project Manager to join our dynamic team at [Company Name], a leading commercial general contractor.
Client Details
Our client is a commercial general contractor with a diverse project pipeline throughout NYC and the surrounding areas.
Description
Assist in the day-to-day management of multiple commercial construction projects from preconstruction through to closeout.
Work closely with Project Managers to coordinate project schedules, budgets, and resources to ensure project milestones are met.
Help monitor the procurement of materials, equipment, and subcontractors, ensuring timely delivery and quality compliance.
Assist in the preparation and tracking of project documentation, including submittals, RFI's, change orders, and contracts.
Support site supervision to maintain safety standards, monitor progress, and resolve issues promptly.
Maintain detailed records of project activities, schedules, and costs to track the progress of construction.
Participate in client meetings, ensuring clear communication between stakeholders and providing updates on project status.
Collaborate with subcontractors, vendors, and team members to ensure smooth project operations and compliance with all regulations.
Review construction drawings and specifications to ensure the scope of work is being executed as intended.
Assist in managing and tracking project budgets, including invoicing and payment requests.
Help resolve day-to-day issues and assist with identifying potential risks and solutions.
Foster a positive, collaborative working environment and contribute to the project team's success.
Profile
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.
1-3 years of experience in commercial construction or project coordination, ideally with a general contractor.
Basic understanding of construction processes, building codes, and safety standards.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and construction project management software (Procore, Buildertrend, or similar).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse team.
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and adapt to changing project needs in a fast-paced environment.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Willingness to travel to project sites as needed
